What is Clicker training? clicker training is a positive training method, making training fun, positive and extremely rewarding helping to create a wonderful bond between you and your horse. What is a Clicker? A clicker is a small plastic box which makes a distinctive sound when pressed. How does it Work? clicker training signals the correct behaviour with positive reinforcement. The clicker is the signal saying "Yes, Mr Horse, that's the behaviour I want" The signal is paired with a treat to reinforce the clicker, encouraging the horse to repeat the good behaviour. |
How do Horse Learn? Horses learn by association, pairing events together. It has been scientifically and practically proved that if a horse can be made to associate a particular task, even and unpleasant one, with something pleasant the horse will tolerate it more readily. |
